Troy’s Tuttle Trip

June 2006

This past June, I got the opportunity to wheel my 2001 Toyota Tacoma TRD for the first time.  It was my first time out with CORA as well.  We had a great time, the people in the group seemed to be prepared for everything that came their way, and they knew a lot about wheeling, and the trails and such.  We had a great time both on and off the trail.

My truck did very well, it surprised me.  I even got to pull out a Chevy pickup that was stuck in the mud.

By the end of the weekend, I was feeling very comfortable with how my truck was doing on the trail, and had learned a lot about what it is capable of.

I even started trying some of the harder stuff.

I think that the more I get into the sport, I will enjoy it more and more.

It was fun to watch the other club members climb some of the harder obstacles, I was able to catch some of that on video and get some great pictures as well.

I’m looking forward to trying some harder trails next time I go out, hopefully even hitting some of the ones the more built rigs are hitting.

This whole trip has motivated me to get the custom work done on my truck, time to start research on a solid axle swap!

Tuttle Creek ORV is a great place to wheel, there’s a wide variety of trails, from rocks to hill climbs, and even mud.

I was able to ride along with Jason in his 1987 Suzuki, that little thing can handle a lot.

This was a great family trip, I was able to bring along my stepson and his friend, we all had a blast
